Student Visa InformationIn order to come to Australia to study you will need to obtain a valid student visa. The Australian Government issues visas to students who study full-time on campus, and have sufficient funds to cover course fees and living expenses while in Australia. A student visa may allow you to stay up to two years and in some cases longer. Because there are other visa types that might apply in your case you will need to seek advice on your options.

According to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC), in order to be granted a student visa, you must provide evidence that satisfies the assessment factors applicable to you. Assessment factors include:
A student visa allows you do 20 hours maximum per week paid work while you are studying your course, and you can do unlimited hours of work during scheduled course breaks.

Health insurance requirementsIt is a requirement of entry to Australia that international students are covered by Overseas Student Health Insurance. This may be arranged on the studentís behalf by Hays International College.
