The Certificates in ESL ( I to IV) enable participants to develop the abilities necessary for effective use of written and spoken English in Australia. These Certificates also provide preparation for students needing to advance to further studies.

We aim to make students confident and competent in their use of English outside of the College, at both Vocational and Higher education levels. Importantly, the four macro skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking are supported by the learner’s increasing ability to develop analytical skills to aid language learning.

Students will be expected to communicate in English both in and out of the classroom in order to accelerate comprehension and verbal skills. Students are strongly advised to make maximum effort to implement classroom learning in real life situations in order to enhance language proficiency.

The normal teaching day consists of four formal class sessions plus directed home study where students are expected to review material presented in class.

Short and integrated courses available to all students, international and local include:
  • ELICOS - intensive general English course
  • IELTS preparation course - 4 or 8 week program
  • TOEIC preparation course - 4 or 8 week program
  • Boost your English classes - short length classes for people visiting or staying in Melbourne who want to improve their English
